A Heartfelt Goodbye to The Hub

It’s hard to believe that just a year and a half ago, we opened the doors to The Creative Hub with the dream of creating a space where people could come together for coffee, creativity, and community.
Since then, our little corner of Anacortes has been filled with so many special moments — watercolor meetups, tea tastings, business meetups, latte flights, pottery field trips, artisan classes, pop-up aquariums and mini golf on the back patio, and countless afternoons of painting bisque pottery while sipping coffee and delicious shrub mocktails. We’ve hosted silent auctions, jazz-themed specials, kids’ events, tarot readings, and cozy tea times. Most importantly, we’ve gotten to know so many of you who brought your families, your friends, your laughter, and your creativity through our doors.
This has been a beautiful journey, but also a challenging one. Running a community space is rewarding, yet it comes with stresses that often aren’t visible on the surface. After much reflection, I’ve made the decision to close The Hub at the end of this year — not because the business isn’t doing well, but because I’m choosing mental health, balance, and peace for myself and my family.
Our last day open will be December 31st, 2025. Between now and then, I encourage you to come by, use your gift cards before Christmas, and pick up any finished pottery waiting for you in the studio. Let’s fill these last months with creativity and connection.
While I’ll miss many aspects of The Hub, I’m excited for the new year and the freedom it brings. I’ll be getting back to making my own art, hosting artisan craft markets again, and returning to teaching piano lessons. It feels like stepping into a new phase in life — one with less stress, more family time, and space to breathe.
Thank you, truly, to every person who supported this space, whether by painting pottery, sipping coffee, teaching, creating, or simply stopping in to say hello. You made The Hub what it was, and I’ll carry that with me always.
Here’s to wrapping up this adventure with joy, gratitude, and a whole lot of creativity. I hope to see you before we close — and I can’t wait to share with you all the new adventures to come. Stay tuned for more creativity through markets in 2026 along with other fun events at different venues throughout Skagit Valley.
Pictured below is my amazing husband, Cameron, who has been my rock through this whole experience! His support made this adventure happen and I am looking forward to spending more quality time with him in the new year. He is a local, super amazing chiropractor who should be spending his time helping people that way (instead of helping me on the weekends by being a cashier). His help has been SO appreciated, and I'm glad that he'll also get quality days off in 2026.
