What to know for the Holiday Markets in 2024!

The markets are held INDOORS at the Depot.

Market Date: Saturday, Dec. 7th, 2024

Market Hours: 10AM-3PM

Setup Hours: 7:30AM-9:45AM

Breakdown Hours: 3PM-4:15PM

Address:

The Markets are held at the Depot Arts Building at 611 R Avenue in Anacortes, WA 98221

Vendor Parking

For unloading and where to park during market hours

For Setup: Vendors are able to park on the patio of the Depot to unload. The patio is accessed from a driveway on Market Street (east of the building). A Map will be posted at the bottom of this page for clarity. Once finished unloading, please move car so other vendors may have access to unload.

Vendors may remain parked on the patio during market hours (along the tree line), or move their car to the street (anywhere on 6th or 7th Street).

We request you do not park directly next to or in front of the building during market hours to leave room for customers to park. There is a lot of street parking available along 6th and 7th, as well as further down R Avenue.

Vendor Setup

7:30-9:45AM

All booth spaces are pre-reserved.

If you need a reminder on which spot you reserved, a map will be posted at the bottom of this page (the most updated map will be posted the Thursday before the market event if there are any changes) and booths indoors will be marked off with blue tape so you have guidelines of where to setup when you arrive.

Booths outdoors (if applicable) will be marked with chalk (as long as it's not raining).

Load-in:

There are 3 ramps into the building:

  • Into Gallery A on the North-East side of the building

  • Into Gallery C on the West side (middle of building)

  • Into Gallery D on the South-East side of the building.

For Load-In: You can park in the spaces directly in front of the building, or on the back side of the patio along the east side of the building. Please move your car as soon as you are finished unloading. *A map of where to park to unload has been added to the bottom of this page.

Once you have unloaded your car, please move it as soon as possible so other vendors may unload.

Setup Time:

Saturday morning setup: 7:30AM - 9:50AM

** PLEASE DO NOT ARRIVE OR ENTER THE BUILDING PRIOR TO 7:30AM **

Frannie will be measuring spaces and getting the building ready, and you may start setting up inside the building AFTER 7:30AM. If you try to enter earlier - you will make her grumpy and no one wants that.

Please plan to have your booth ready for customers no later than 9:50AM. If you have not arrived for setup by 9:30 - your spot will be forfeited as 20 minutes is not enough time to unload and setup before the market opens. If you truly only need 20 minutes for setup, please let us know in advance so we don't fill your spot.

If you have any questions regarding setup times or question about the market in general, please contact Frannie at CreativeHub.Anacortes@gmail.com. Email is the best way to reach her.

Market Assistance

Since there are a lot of events happening in Anacortes on the 7th, Frannie will be at the market in the morning and afternoon (as she needs to be at the Creative Hub during the local parade). Lindsay Gippe will be her assistant for the day and will be available to answer questions if vendors need anything.

What to know about the Booth Spaces:

The booth size you reserved is the amount of space you have to play with.

Booths are all shoulder to shoulder with their neighboring vendors so please plan accordingly (meaning there is not a path in between booths to walk through). You'll want to plan your booth layout with an option to be able to move around your displays without entering your neighbors booth.

If you are unable to make it for any reason, please let us know - even if it is the morning of! We want to make sure there are no gaps and will move vendors around if someone can't make it. Email CreativeHub.Anacortes@gmail.com

WIFI:

The property does have WIFI and decent cell coverage.

Wifi is free and does not need a password.

Payment Types

All vendors need to have their own payment processing methods.

There is not a cash machine on site, so if you are allowing cash payments, please be sure to bring your own petty cash to make change.

Vendors can choose any method in processing their own payments. Many vendors use Square, Venmo, or Paypal to process electronic payments as well as accepting cash. This is all completely up to you and what works for your business.

There is Wifi Available if you don't want to use cell data and the wifi is open (no password needed).

Booth Spaces / Building Info

What to know...

All vendors must provide their own setup, including tables, linens displays, and tents (if you are outside).

Please note: Tables are *not* provided with your space. If you need to rent a 6' or 8' table, they are $10 to rent. Please contact Frannie to coordinate (creativehub.anacortes@gmail.com)

Walls:

Please be mindful if you want to hang items on the walls of the building. We recommend that you use command strip hooks or 3M tape - but it must be fully removed once the event is complete.

Layers:

The building can be a very drafty if it's a colder day. Bring layers just in case you run cold. We crank up the heat - but it still tends to be cold and we'll be keeping doors open during setup and during the market.

Bathrooms:

There are bathrooms located in the building, as well as outdoors.

Food:

Bring snacks to keep nourished throughout the day! The closest food to the building is on Commercial Avenue (Village Pizza, El Jinete Mexican, Island Cafe, etc) or up at Little Chicago Food Court on Q Avenue and 11th street (has food trucks).

We are lucky that we will have Dane Good Coffee Company for coffee/snacks, as well as BraveHeart Croissants on site!

Electrical Outlets & Lighting

Plan ahead...

Electrical outlets are available in most booths indoors if you are located against a wall, some may need an extension cord. Outdoor booths do not have access to electrical outlets, please plan accordingly.

Booth lighting:

The building is old and the lighting can be inconsistent in areas. If your items have specific lighting needs, please bring display lights and an extension cord (or even better if they are battery powered - I love using a Halo Bolt portable charger for everything!)

A quick tip...

...bring lighting even if you don't think your booth needs it!

Especially indoors, and definitely if you are in Gallery D!

The building does not have consistent lighting, and extra lights always help draw your customers attention. Every market we've had at the Depot, there is at least one vendor who complains about the dim lighting, even though we communicated they should bring lighting. Don't let this be you.

Breakdown Details

3 - 4:15PM

Vendors are not permitted to break down their booth prior to 3 PM as it provides a negative experience for shoppers and for the vendors around you. Outdoor vendors may break down early if the weather is too windy/rainy - but please check in with Frannie before doing so.

Please plan on breaking down at 3PM prior to pulling your car to the the lot to make breakdown go as smoothly and allow for cars to pull up easily.

If you need longer than 1.15 Hours to breakdown, please let us know. We need to be out of the building by 4:30 and can find more hands to help you if needed.

Questions?

Email works best!

If you have any questions, please reach out to Frannie: CreativeHub.Anacortes@gmail.com

The phone number to the Hub will reach the baristas who can answer basic questions about classes and markets located at the Hub, but do not have the capacity to know all of the nitty gritty details about managing markets. Thanks for working with us!

Reach out via email if you need anything.

If you know you can't make it to the market and need to cancel, please send us an email as soon as you know.

Social Media!

Let us promote you!

For every market, we are happy to promote our vendors!

If you have a specific photo you'd like us to use of your products, please email them to our social media manager,  Kimberly:

kim.creativeavenue@gmail.com

She will create the social media promotions and include the text you wrote in your registration. We will do our best to tag you - and encourage you to share as much as you can with your followers, email list, and friends.

Here is a flyer and social media squares that you can use to promote the market! It's a compressed zipped folder so the files will need to be extracted once downloaded.

AND: When vendors help promote the market, it makes the BIGGEST different in attendance. Please share the market as often as possible with your followers, email lists, friends, etc.

We recommend including the date/time and address in the caption of all of your posts to make it easy for customers to save the info. Here's an example you can copy/paste:
